Living with
Chronic Illness

The medical system gave you a file. It did not give you a life.

"The way through wasn't a protocol. It was learning to trust what I already knew."

For three years, I barely left my bed. EDS. Hashimoto's. Dysautonomia. A stack of diagnoses that filled files and changed nothing. I have been bedridden for months at a time, more than once. Surgeries. Injuries that took me out without warning. Food intolerances layered on top of everything else, the kind that make a normal meal a calculation. Chronic pain that doesn't announce itself, it just settles in. Conventional medicine named everything and solved nothing.

What pulled me out was not a protocol. It was movement. Structure I built for myself when no one else could give it to me. The slow discovery that I could learn to read my own body better than any chart could. And a stubbornness the size of a cathedral. I did demanding studies through all of it. I still have a full, active life today.

I know what it costs to manage a body that doesn't behave. I also know it is possible to build something real inside that constraint — not despite it, but with it.

For people who know how to get to appointments

You have the diagnoses. You know the acronyms. You have a doctor, maybe several, maybe a long list that keeps growing. You know how to get to appointments. What you don't know is how to actually live — how to build something that holds when your body keeps changing the rules.

Medicine gave you a file. It didn't give you a direction. It didn't tell you how to explain to your employer why you disappeared for three weeks. It didn't help you stop apologizing for your body to people who love you. It didn't show you how to build a life around unpredictability without disappearing inside it.

This is not alternative medicine and it is not a replacement for your medical care. It is accompaniment. Someone who has been there, who has tools, and who walks alongside you while you figure out what your body needs and how to build a life that can actually hold it.

What we work with

Each session draws from what the moment needs. Some are practical: structuring, planning, navigating. Some are somatic: working with a body that holds fear, exhaustion, and grief alongside the diagnosis. Nothing is applied as a fixed protocol. Everything is chosen based on where you are that day.

🌊

Body awareness & breathwork

Learning to read your own signals again — what's flare, what's fear, what's actually fine. Breath as a tool you can use anywhere, not just in session.

🛡️

Resourcing

Before we go anywhere difficult, we build a felt sense of safety first. A body under sustained load for years needs that ground laid down deliberately, not assumed.

🧭

Identity and values work

Diagnosis reshapes how you see yourself, often without your consent. We work directly with who you are now, not who the file says you should be.

⏳

Pacing experiments

Small, testable adjustments to how you spend your energy, tried in real life between sessions, not prescribed as a fixed rule.

📍

Flare-pattern mapping

What tends to come before a flare, and how early you can actually catch it. Recognition you can act on, not just describe after the fact.

↗

Integration planning

Every session closes with something concrete: a next step sized to the body you actually have this week.
